Deeds Davis is a transgender visual artist living in Atlanta, GA. While much of their work is seen as fine art, they received their commercial illustration degree from Portfolio Center in Buckhead , Atlanta in 2012. The focus of Deeds’s work is to create an autobiographical language that documents the intersection of gender and art. Their diverse and provocative body of work is influenced by Tonalism, German Expressionism, Abstract Expressionism and Neo-expressionism.
Their many Atlanta exhibitions include showings at Yoyo Gallery, New Street Gallery, Young Blood, Eyedrum, KLC Studios and the art gallery at Downtown Atlanta’s groundbreaking theatre Theatrical Outifit. Deeds has three pieces in the Emirates Palace in Dubai.
Their commercial work has appeared in Peleton Magazine, Free Wheelin’ Magazine, Refinery (NYC), JWT Inside, and Dad’s Garage Theatre. They have illustrated several children’s books including 3 for A Story Before Bed Publishing.
